When we purchased the hotel in 2002 we set about refurbishing the entire building. This is now complete and it has been a labour of love as we have been able to furnish every bedroom and suite (there are only 9 in total) in an individual style but in keeping with it's 650 year history.
Step back to a bygone age when food was cooked individually to order from fresh ingredients delivered in daily and personal service was always assured to be of the highest standard. Our aim, and that of our staff is to exceed your expectations in every respect and we would refer you to our guests comment book which is our best testimonial.
Reached by a mile-long drive you will see sheep and pheasants meandering across the road just before you see the lake with duck and swans with peacocks striding majestically across the lawns. It may be a former stately home but you will find it without pretension, an oasis of warmth and comfort where you will be made to feel very much at home and you will be astounded at the quality of the food and the modest prices (£9-99 for a 2-course lunch and just £24-95 for the multi-course evening meal)
