Betws-y-Coed A charity tree top adventure will take place just outside Betws-y-Coed on Saturday, 6th June 2009 to help raise funds for the Arthritis Research Campaign (arc). The high ropes course is surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountainous countryside. This is a thrilling, high level, adventurous journey 15.4m (50ft) up in the trees involving a series of 28 elements and exciting obstacles including rope bridges, Tarzan swings, zip slide and culminating in the optional POWERFAN, a 100 ft leap from a tree top. Llandudno. We are very pleased to welcome back the Hallé under the Norwegian conductor Arild Remmereit. He will open his programme with Grieg’s much loved Peer Gynt Suite with its thrilling In the Hall of the Mountain King movement. This will be followed by another work by Haydn, his rarely performed Sinfonia Concertante featuring as soloists four of the leading players from the Hallé, including Lyn Fletcher, the distinguished 1st violinist of the orchestra. The final work in the programme is the great symphony by Cesar Franck in D minor. This is a rare opportunity to hear this masterpiece, which for many years has stood at the centre of most European orchestras’ repertoire but in recent years is rarely performed.
